Jam-packed week required little travel

Wow! Last week was something.

My week started with the Metrolina Theatre Awards on Sept. 14 and ended with Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's visit on Sunday.

In between was a night of fashion and a dear friend's birthday bash on the patio at Ri-Ra.

I was so zonked that I couldn't make it to Festival in the Park.

Thursday's night of fashion began at the Dress for Success gala at the Southern Women's Show. I got to meet the gorgeous Andie McDowell. Then it was off to the Kristin Davis/Belk fashion show and the opening night of Charlotte Fashion Week. Both were at the Blake Hotel.

The coolest part: It all happened within a few miles of my home.

You might have heard that Eye is changing soon. It's true. I'll have details in the Oct. 1 issue. I think you're going to like it.
